The Competitions module

League and competition management

Building the draw is the worst hour of your week, and the ladder is the one page everybody checks. Both are jobs a computer should have finished before you got to the venue — and neither is worth the Sunday night you spend re-sorting a spreadsheet by goal difference.

Competitions is one of Sweepa’s three service modules. It shares a calendar, a customer record and a payout with Bookings and Programs.

What it does

A season, from the draw to the grand final

Fixtures, results, ladders and finals — on the same calendar as the rest of your venue.

Round-robin fixtures, generated

Set your teams, your rounds and the courts you have, and Sweepa auto-generates the round-robin draw. It lands on the same calendar as your casual hire and coaching, so a fixture cannot be scheduled onto a court somebody else has already paid for.

Results, entered and approved

Scores go in from the admin or from a phone, and results are approved before they stand. A mis-typed scoreline is caught on your side rather than by a parent on Facebook.

Ladders that calculate themselves

Points, differential and position update off the approved results. Nobody re-sorts anything, and the ladder your admin works from is the one the public sees.

Public fixtures pages, on your own site

Your branded Sweepa site carries live fixtures and ladders with team badges, on your subdomain or your own domain. The page people actually check is yours, not a portal with somebody else’s logo on it.

Finals, seeded off the ladder

When the rounds are done the bracket seeds off the ladder you have been building all season. To be straight about the edge of this: Sweepa runs finals as the end of a season. It does not yet run a standalone one-weekend knockout with no season behind it.

Teams, join codes and team money

Captains manage their own squad with a join code, and players, parents and teams get self-serve portals to register, pay and manage their team. Team fees run through the same Stripe checkout as everything else at your venue.

Score entry from a phone uses the Sweepa admin app, an add-on on Academy and Squad and included on Captain and Club; the client app carrying fixtures and ladders is on every plan. Full detail on the features page.

One system

The league is not the only thing on those courts

Thursday night belongs to the league. Thursday afternoon does not, and neither does the court next to it — but if the draw lives in competition software and the hire lives in a booking system, nobody sees both at once. That is how a venue refunds a birthday party because a semi-final moved.

Sweepa’s three modules run on one customer record, one calendar and one Stripe payout. Bookings sells the hours your fixtures do not use, from the same availability the draw was generated against. Programs puts your coaching terms and camps on that calendar too, which is usually where next season’s under-12s come from. The whole platform is on the features page.

1

The draw hits the calendar

Fixtures are real slots on real courts, visible to the front desk the moment they are generated — not a PDF half your staff never open.

2

The hours around it stay sellable

Bookings keeps selling casual hire, recurring blocks and parties in the gaps, with peak and off-peak pricing, because it reads the same availability.

3

The juniors come through coaching

Programs runs the terms and camps against the same family records, so the kid in the Tuesday clinic and the player in your under-14s are one person.

Pricing

What it costs

Sweepa is priced by module. Competitions on its own is From $49/mo on the Academy plan — the right shape for an operation that is a league and nothing else. Every other plan includes all three modules, so if you also hire out courts or run coaching there is nothing to add.

On top of the subscription there is a 2.00% platform fee on what you take through the platform, team fees included. Prices in Australian dollars (AUD). Stripe’s own processing fees are separate, and the plan limits, add-ons and annual rates are on the pricing page.

Every self-serve plan starts with a 30-day free trial. Card required, nothing charged until day 31.

Switching

Moving from something else

Nobody changes competition software mid-season, and we would not ask you to. Our switching guide covers exporting your teams, players and fixtures, importing them into Sweepa, and finishing the season you are halfway through where it was raised, then going live here for the next one with the same email addresses.

If you want us set against the alternatives first, the comparison pages say what Sweepa does and what it does not do yet. Two worth reading: how to run a sports league and how to create sports fixtures without the spreadsheet. If it is the ladder you are chasing, ladders people actually check covers that.
